Nothing Happens, Everything Happens

Nothing Happens, Everything Happens. 2025, 3000 ironed medical gloves, 300cm x 400cm

They become perpetually stagnant sterile ghosts of what could’ve been. Absence becomes a presence through the repetitive compiling and compacting of medical gloves, alluding to absence through the materials potentiality to offer care. The overwhelming excess of sterile institutional materials that hold a potentiality for care, only highlight an emotional absence of this care-detritus. Informed by my experience in foster care, and the domestic becoming institutional, there is a sterility, coldness and paranoia to the home becoming an institution.
